Fall Activities For the Family

Fall begins on September 23rd, which means it’s time to start thinking about activities for the new season. We know life can get chaotic and busy, but taking the time to bond with your child is important to their upbringing! With beautiful weather, it’ll be great to spend time outdoors with these ideas from Polk County private schools.

Magical Dining Month
If you’re the family that likes to eat, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month is the perfect opportunity to explore the delicious culinary experience in Central Florida. The promotion is in place with more than 100 restaurants with $35-prix-fixe three-course meals. One dollar donation from each meal sold is being donated to charities like Freedom Ride and BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Perfect for a younger child, this special event at the Magic Kingdom happens on select dates throughout October 31st. The party includes Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular”, and the “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks display. Prices range from $74 to $115. For ages three to nine, the prices are $69 to $110.

Central Florida Film Festival
If you’re a family that’s into film, the 13th annual Central Florida Film Festival is perfect for you. This summer, this special event features short films created by local students, international documentaries, and more. Screenings premiere at the West Orange Cinema in Ocoee. Buy a $25 daily pass to get the full experience!

Sanford Art Walk
Take a stroll through the historic streets of downtown Sanford and view art during Central Florida’s only monthly juried art show. Held the third Saturday of each month, the art walk exhibits art at various businesses, all while live music is performed at participating venues. Talk to your child about what pieces they enjoyed and what they believed each one represented. The event is free and is from 6 to 9 p.m.

Turtle Krawl 5K
A day out with your family is a great time to be charitable! Teach your child about helping marine life by testing your endurance during the Turtle Krawl 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds benefit the Sea Turtle Preservation Society. Beginning at 7:30 a.m., the race $35 with an online registration discount available.
